About Me: My name is Michelle and I run this shindig. :)

I got my first camera when I was 13 and I couldn't find anything more exciting than staging and styling my friends and items to compose beautiful images. My love for people and emotions grew when I got my psychology degree from Florida International University, and my love for photography flourished when I got my first DSLR in 2006. I decided then to peruse a life eating, breathing, and sleeping wedding photography when I had the opportunity to shoot my first wedding in 2008. I went to the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale to fine tune my skills, graduating with a degree in Photography. I couldn't imagine doing anything else with my life than documenting the happiest moments of people's lives.

Things that make me weak in the knees are natural window light, quality german chocolate, kittens, open fields, celtic music, and rustic weddings. I share a beautiful home in Sunrise, Florida with my significant other and the best four cats I can ask for.

    we can be friends ❤

Wedding photography is a lifelong investment… do your research!

I can’t believe I came across this amazing episode of Judge Joe Brown where a bride didn’t do her research in hiring her wedding photographers, and where the wedding photographers didn’t know what they were doing! Unfortunately it’s so easy for anyone now to pick up a camera and call themselves a “photographer” and will have no problem charging you a very low amount to shoot your wedding with “(not really) professional equipment.”

Here is the reality– wedding photographers have a huge difference in cost everywhere you go, because every photographer’s overhead and experience level is different. Picking your wedding photographers involves much more research than just picking out what color bows are going to be on the back of your reception chairs. Find someone who is educated, who does this full time as their sole income, has the proper equipment (and backup equipment), has the experience, a great portfolio, and knows how to work in any lighting condition possible! Photography translated literally is “the recording of light rays” –we see light differently. We know how it will look when it’s recorded onto a sensor. We know how to manipulate it and make it change colors, how to create shadows, how to create highlights, and how to make it brighter and darker. We know how to shape it, play it, and we’re educated on how to make it look flattering. We spent a criminal amount of money on a degree that teaches us these things, as well as how to pose and speak to you, how to conduct a legal business, and how to make you happy as a bride as well as be able to feed ourselves, our family, and keep a roof over our heads while doing what makes us happy.

We don’t just show up and click a button if that’s what you think. And if you do, then you deserve nothing less than snapshots. If you have to have open heart surgery for a clogged artery, I’m sure you wouldn’t want a “doctor” who thinks that it’s just about splitting open some skin and clearing out a pipe.

Don’t make the same mistake as this woman!

Alexys + Alex are engaged! | Delray Beach, FL portrait photographer

I was so excited to photograph Alexys and Alex’s engagement session at the Morikami Japanese Museum and Gardens in Delray Beach! I’ve been hooked on the idea of doing an engagement session there ever since I shot a wedding there back in November. The grounds are so beautiful, and if you get to photograph at the right time, the lighting is perfect everywhere you go. After the park closed we found a giant open field and took some more romantic pictures until the sun officially set. I can’t stress it enough how wonderful everything is during the winter time– perfect weather, soft light, no humidity, and clear blue skies. It’s the only time I truly enjoy shooting outdoors in Florida. But enough about that! Enjoy the set:)

On the left my assistant Hal, filling the wine glasses, and on the right me with my bride-and-groom-to-be. I’m looking forward to their wedding in October!

Grace + Justin are married! {sneak peak} | Boca Raton, FL wedding photographer

Grace and Justin are such a cute couple! Here is a sneak peak or our quick little portrait session at sunset from today’s wedding.

Anne + Jeff are engaged! {sneak peak} | Delray Beach, FL portrait photographer

I really try not to post that many pictures for my sneak peaks but I just happen to have too many favorites from photo sessions. Here’s a sneak peak of the couple from today before they jumped in the ocean (that I’ll save for the full post!).

Shelini + Damo are married! | Oakland Park, FL wedding photographer

Shelini and Damo had a traditional (but not *too* traditional) and very intimate Indian wedding ceremony late November with only immediate family in attendance. I’m so happy we were able to get some sunset pictures, as well as experiment with some post-sunset!
