Who is Minerva Photography made of?
Me! My name is Michelle and I am the creator/owner/operator/photographer/editor/designer. Carlos is my photo-enthusiast husband who joins every event as a second photographer. It will always be both of us at all weddings and large events.
Why Minerva?
It’s my middle name, and I thought it sounded much more original than Michelle Photography!
Are you incorporated, licensed, and insured?
Yes.
Do you have any difficulty with low light situations?
Not at all. We look forward to many unique low light locations. We are prepared with every situation you can possibly think of regarding lighting! Outdoors we are “natural light” photographers, but for indoors we have a variety of low light lenses for no-flash areas such as churches and during ceremonies, to video lights and strobes to light up the dance floor and other dark areas for portraits.
Do you do anything else other than weddings and engagements?
“If you wake up every day doing what you love, then you will never feel like you worked a day in your life” so we highly take that into consideration while accepting jobs. The main thing we market for is weddings and engagements, but fully capable and experienced in Quince Años events and portraits, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, family reunions, showers, corporate events, maternity and family portraits!
I would like to see more photos than what you have on your site. Can I see entire weddings you’ve done?
Of course you can! Consultations are the best time and place to show you full collections of weddings and engagements.
Do you edit the pictures?
All of the images that you receive on the thumb drive are color/exposure corrected, cropped and aligned. This ensures that all of your images are consistent and print-ready quality. If you would like any further manipulations done to the images (ie: plastic surgery and perhaps a head swap or item/person removal) then the prices vary depending on the editing job. The images that you are viewing all over the website are taken directly from our clients files, meaning we are not doing any additional edits to falsely advertise the quality you will receive. The beautiful quality you see here is what you will have.
Do you make the wedding albums?
I completely design the wedding albums from front to back, and the design is sent off to a lab where it is constructed and sent to you. Everything is offered a la carte, so you pick the size, type of cover and how many pages you want.
Do I receive the copyright to all of the images?
When you receive the flash drive, you also receive a document issuing “usage rights” which allows you to print and use the images for personal purposes only (printing, sharing with family, etc…). The legal “intellectual property” copyright remains with the photographer automatically, which allows us to publish the images on our blog and use for advertising. If you do not want any of the images that we take of you put on the website, blog, or used for advertising then just let us know and we’ll scratch it out. <i>Please be advised that you may not sell the images for personal profit.</i>
How do I set up a consultation with you?
Just send me an e-mail to Michelle@MinervaPhotography.com (best way!) or leave a voicemail at 954.552.1495
Do you have an office?
Minerva Photography is operated within my private residence, so when we meet, I find a place between us to have a nice cup of coffee and chat!
What times of the week are the best time to reach you?
Our schedule is very different each and every day depending on photo sessions or meeting with clients outside of the office. Ideally I try to be as available I can via phone during regular office hours, but I always inform everyone that e-mail is always the easiest way because no matter where I am I’m able to see it and easily answer any questions you may have.
Will it always be you showing up to our event to photograph or do you commission/sub-contract other photographers?
It will always 100% be Michelle guaranteed at every event and Carlos is 95% guaranteed to be the 2nd photographer unless otherwise noted and informed way in advance.
When do you photograph engagement sessions?
Mostly during the months of October-April (best weather, of course), ideally during the weekdays, and we meet to begin photographing roughly 2.5 hours before sunset.
How about boudoir sessions?
Most favorite locations for boudoir sessions are at boutique hotels and bed and breakfast locations. Best time for those sessions are during the summertime when busy season is slow for the hotel –that way you can get an awesome half-day rate in a customized room!
So how do I book you?
You contact, we meet, we discuss, we agree, we sign, and deposit is required to reserve the date.
Then what happens after that?
Besides setting up and photographing the engagement/portrait session, I will contact you about two months before the wedding. From here we create a detailed timeline, shot list, and go over all of the tips and tricks of how to get fantastic wedding photos.
